The Big Leap

The Big Leap: Conquer Your Hidden Fear And Take Life To The Next Level by Gay Hendricks
In “The Big Leap” Gay Hendricks reveals a simple yet comprehensive program for overcoming our one barrier to happiness and fulfillment, providing a clear path for achieving our true potential and attaining not only financial success but also success in love and life.
This book was big eye-opener for me 🤯😳🧐 in the way of realizing how the automatic negative thoughts (A.N.T.s) 🤬 truly do hold us down and weaken us spiritually, mentally, and physically.
I recall one Sunday while I was out trail running in Phoenix Az the principles that Gay Hendricks teaches in this book sunk in BIG TIME.
I was having a great run and feeling strong. 💪 I was 4 miles into the trail run, basking in how great I felt and the likelihood that I’d easily beat my previous time on the nearly 5-mile trek around the mountains in the Thunderbird Conservation Park.
All of a sudden as I was rounding a corner of a switch-back and feeling the height of awesome when some memories of certain failures I’d had in the past came forefront to my mind. My joy turned to shame. The feeling of strength I was feeling turned to exhaustion.
I thought “What the heck was going on!?!?” I was feeling amazing and strong one second and then the next, I was feeling weak and depressed. 😢😫 All from the flash of one bad memory…I was amazed in the next few seconds how significantly this one thought totally deflated not only my mental energy but my physical energy.
My subconscious had reached its upper limit tolerance for happiness, and in came a negative memory to bring me back down below the upper thermostat limit of happiness my subconscious was willing to tolerate. WOW!!!
Based on the teachings of Gay’s insights in this book I was, within a few seconds, able to recognize what was going on, dismiss the negative thought, reengage and reenergize myself with awesomeness 🤙 and finish the last mile of the trail run strong! And…yes set a new personal time record!
This is another book that I’ve listed to many times over the years and is a must for your self-improvement library.
Let me know your thoughts below during and after reading this amazing book!😀
